We are pleased to announce the introduction of the “new generation” Versatile tractors to New Zealand.
These high output tractors will compliment our current offering from the McCormick camp which currently peaks at 230 HP and allow us to enter into the broader market with a product that has a long heritage of powerful, rugged and reliable operation over many hours in difficult conditions.

The history of Versatile dates back to the 1970’s when the company was the first to mass produce articulated four wheel drive tractors at 100hp. By the late 1970’s horsepower had climbed to 330hp and the 1980’s brought tractors offering 470hp.
In 1987 the Versatile brand was acquired by Ford New Holland and by 1989 the tractors wore the blue and white paint of the Ford brand.
These tractors carried the “Genesis” suffix and many examples found their way to the Australian marketplace, either as Ford or Fiat G series mainly as a conventional format tractor with a front wheel drive assist format.
Our best information tells us that around 170 units made it to the New Zealand marketplace.
In 2000 Buhler Industries Inc, a Canadian owned company purchased New Holland’s Winnipeg production facility and continued to build the original Versatile product as the Buhler Genesis 2000 Series.
In the ensuing years production was sporadic and the factory produced limited numbers of tractors until 2006 when Rostelmarsh Ltd, a Russian Combine Harvester manufacturer brought 80% of Buhler and set about increasing production to early 80 levels. To mark their return to profitable and expanded production the Versatile name was relaunched in 2008.
The reputation of Versatile today is known worldwide for reliability, durability and ease of service and maintenance.
It is our intention to launch the first unit at the Mystery Creek Fieldays followed by a roadshow that will travel the whole country through June to August.
